Doka Expands Middle East Activities with New Regional Hub Dubai Jafza premises, a central service point for the Middle East Doka, the formwork technology leader from Austria, announced today, in line with their global strategy, that Dubai will serve as their regional hub for the Middle East. Back in January, the first stage of expansion for Doka within Jafza itself was completed with the move to a significantly larger and logistically optimized 50,000m2 facility. Headed by Peter Vogel, Regional Manager, Middle East, Doka’s regional subsidiaries include twelve sales and service operations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon and Jordan. The new hub meets specific objectives including ensuring Doka’s full-service formwork solutions, value-engineering and cost-optimized logistics are brought even closer to customers, in addition to installing and managing in Dubai globally-recognized competence centers for excellence in “high-rise”, “bridges and tunnels”, “energy”, and “rail” construction. Furthermore, the new setup guarantees provisions for continuous and wide-ranging innovation methods to suit regional construction needs, especially for enhanced servicing of the petrochemical, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. Commenting on the expansion, Mr. Vogel said, “Dubai is geographically the most desirable location. Our base in Jebel Ali Free Zone – with proximity to both the airport and the marine cargo terminal – is ideal to sustain Doka’s market leadership and ensure maximum customer benefit across the Middle East. The regional office offers top level European engineering and support to our local business units, which in turn is directly passed on to our construction partners.” The first undertaking of the new regional office is participation this week in the Big 5 Exhibition, being held from November 21 - 24 in Dubai. Doka will once again be showcasing their path-breaking formwork innovations for cast-in-place concrete construction. Their stand will be located in the Middle East Concrete hall, stand no. MEC C51. Live demonstrations of Doka’s revolutionary shoring system, Load-bearing Staxo-40, will be held on Day 1 and Day 2 of the show at 4:00 pm outside the concrete hall.
