- Sets Up Subsidiary in Thailand
- Provide a New Asia Subcontinent Express Service
Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation will establish a subsidiary in Thailand - Yang Ming Line (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The new company will provide all services starting 1st January 2018. Mr. Derek Chen is officially appointed as its President.
Thailand is located in a strategical position in the middle of Southeast Asia with strong links to neighboring countries, whose economy has been growing steadily over the years. It is expected to see more rapid expansion of the market in the near future. Yang Ming has upgraded vessel size for Southeast Asia services in order to optimize its service network. The inauguration of Yang Ming Line (Thailand) Co., Ltd. may serve Yang Ming’s worldwide clients with a more comprehensive and intensive logistics network by integrating regional business. Yang Ming looks forward to reinforcing the operations of import/export/transship cargo in Thailand in line with Yang Ming’s long-term strategy of port network establishment and synchronization of information platform.
To keep up the consistency of high-quality service in Thailand, Yang Ming offers a variety of weekly direct-calling options at major ports there. Yang Ming also provides shuttle services between Laem Chabang and Bangkok, Singapore and Kaohsiung as transshipment hubs connecting to global service network.
On the other hand Yang Ming announced that it will provide a new Asia Subcontinent Express service (Loop Code: AS1) with effect from ETB Qingdao on 16th January 2018. AS1 extends Yang Ming’s coverage of direct service to the trade between North China and Pakistan.
The rotation of AS1 is:
Qingdao–Shanghai–Ningbo–Shekou–Singapore–Port Kelang–Karachi–Port Qasim–Singapore–Qingdao. A round voyage takes 42 days.
Besides AS1 service, Yang Ming provides another five loops covering Pakistan and India markets with details as follows:
Shanghai–Ningbo–Shekou–Singapore–Karachi–Mundra–Port Kelang–Singapore–Hong Kong–Shanhai
Xingang–Qingdao–Kaohsiung–Singapore–Port Kelang–Nhava Sheva–Mundra– Colombo–Port Kelang–Singapore–Xingang

Yang Ming will continue enhancing its service network, providing customers with more reliable and comprehensive delivery services covering the Pakistan and India markets.
