Suze Canal Transit Dues as of April 1/2008
Article one :
The Suez Canal Authority announces that transit dues for the year 2008 shall be according to the attached table.
Article two:
A - Circular 6/93 shall be cancelled.
B - The reduction of 2% of Suez Canal normal dues, for double hull crude oil tankers, tankers of petroleum products, and chemical carriers (loaded or in ballast), and combined carriers )carrying crude oil or petroleum products), shall remain valid.
C - For navy and auxiliary ships belonging to different countries, item (18) page (204) of the Suez Canal Rules of Navigation (edition December 2007) shall be applied.
Article three:
This circular takes effect as of April 1,2008
On the surcharge on tiers of containers and barges on the weather deck of container vessels and LASH vessels
Atricle one :
Circular 2/2 006, concerning the surcharge on tiers of containers and barges on the weather deck of container vessels and LASH vessels, shall be cancelled and replaced by what follows :
Container vessels and LASH vessels, carrying containers or barges on the weather deck will be subject to the following surcharge of the Suez Canal dues :
%2 for vessels carrying one tier of containers or barges.
%4 for vessels carrying two tiers of containers or barges.
%6 for vessels carrying three tiers of containers or barges.
%8 for vessels carrying four tiers of containers or barges.
%12for vessels carrying five tiers of containers.
%16 for vessels carrying Six tiers of containers.
%18 for vessels carrying Seven tiers of containers.
- An increase of 2% shall be applied for each tier in excess of 7 tiers, which means that a surcharge of 20% shall be applied on vessels carrying 8 tiers of containers .. etc
